Blastercaded Painting, A YouTube channel I’ve been watching and interacting with for a bit now (GO SUBSCRIBE!) ran a small painting contest during the 2nd half of April 2023. Starting from the 15th with a new/unstarted model, submit a completed paint job for final judgement by midnight (Eastern US time) on the 30th. I chose a WizKids roper, and got it done and posted JUST in time. I didn’t win, but I’m happy with the results on the model. And because we were posting progress update pictures to the contest Discord room, this is a rare model for which I have a pretty good set of in-progress pictures!

The above were the in-progress photos posted to the discord during the contest. A lot was happening personally, so I didn’t get to do as much or spend quite as much time as I would have wanted to, but I think the results were still pretty good for me! All in, I estimate the total time spent on the model was probably 7-10 hours, but I’m very slow and not efficient when it comes to painting. So — what was the final result? Well…
